My Everyday Makeup Routine

Makeup. Most of us have worn it at one time or another, whether to a formal event, dance concert or it's just part of your everyday routine. I have been trying out different makeup products and different routines, trying to find the right one for me. I recently tried out a new routine and found that it worked really well for my skin, didn't look to cakey aka more of a natural look then full on makeup and at the end of the day looked very similar to when I put it on at the start of the day 10 hours earlier. This may not work for all skins but it works really well for mine (I have dry - normal skin).

You used to be able to find the Maybelline products at Target though I haven't been there recently so I don't know if they still stock Maybelline but I'm guessing they still do. I don't know if they stock every shade at Woolworths though so if a store doesn't have your shade, try another store or maybe Priceline or Target.

Step no. 1: Moisturiser

I use the 'Olay Moisturising Lotion - Sensitive Skin'. I use this beforehand instead of a primer, just because I don't want my skin to go all dry throughout the day (which I have very dry skin) so it's just to keep my skin fresh and moisturized throughout the day.

You can find this at Woolworths for $13

Step no. 2: Concealer

I use the 'Maybelline Instant Age Rewind' Concealer in Shade 'Light/2'. I use the Sponge applicator on the end to put a triangle under each eye, 3 strokes on my nose (one on either side and one down the middle), a dot on any red spots, and a stroke on my chin and forehead (between my eyebrows). I then blend it in with My Beauty Blender (cheap one from Kmart) so you can't see any dots anywhere and it's all blended together nicely.

I bought this from Woolworths for $18.95. The Beauty Blender was, from what I can remember, around $4

Step no. 3: Powder

I use the 'Maybelline Shine Free Oil Control Loose Powder in shade Light' . I use this with my Powder Brush, I just open up the flap on the inside (I usually only open it up to about 6 holes just so it doesn't get all through the container and get all messy as it has just done with my container!). I then tap some of the power into the lid and just dip my brush into the powder inside the lid and just brush it over all my face to make sure its all the one skintone. I also brush a little bit along my jawline just to blend it in because this is a shade or two darker than my skintone just so there is not a harsh contrast between my face and neck.

You can find the Powder at Woolworths for $16.95.

You can find the Brush at Kmart for about $5 from my memory.

Step no. 4: Highlighter

I love using the 'Maybelline Master Strobe Stick' in shade light. I just grab the stick and make a straight line with it, kinda under my eyes (I dunno how to explain it!), where highlighter usually goes! Then I grab my beauty blender and just blend it all in so that when you turn in the light, it looks natural and not just like some has painted a straight line of highlighter across your cheek!

You can find the highlighter at Woolworths for $16

Step no. 5: Blush

I use the 'Maybelline Fit Me Blush'. I just grab the Thin Lizzy brush(I got it in a pack) and dip it in the blush, then just buff it along my cheeks and up the side of my face a bit. As far as I'm aware, you can't find this at Woolworths. Try Priceline or Target.

Step no. 6: Eyebrows

I use the 'Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade' in the Colour 'Soft Brown'.

This is actually amazing! I got it from a friend who bought it but then it was a few shades too dark for her eyebrows so she gave it too me and I'm so glad she did! So the brush I have pictured I actually don't know where I got it from but it's about the width of my eyebrow so I basically just dip it in the brow pomade and brush it through my eyebrow. I do my eyebrows because when I was a little kid I tripped over and fell on my face and there is now a squarish shaped scar on my eyebrow where no hair will grow back, so I use this just too cover that and just to make my brows a shade darker.

I don't know where to get this because as I mentioned earlier, it was given too me. At the Anastasia Beverly Hills store online it had it's price listed at $18.

And that is my Everyday Makeup routine (I don't put on makeup everyday but when I need to do a simple makeup look this is the one)! If it's a nighttime event you're going to or a little more formal than a everyday, I would suggest putting a few strokes of mascara on(not too much, you don't want it too all clump up!) but just to give you're eyes that bit more of a POP! The mascara I use is the:

Maybelline Colossal Volum' Express Waterproof Mascara(the writing has worn off on mine!)

You can find this at Woolworths for $20

And that's it!

Thanks for reading and hope that you got something out of this - whether trying out some of these products or changing your makeup routine to go in that order!

Anyways,

Thanks!
